Day 229

June 22, 2006

On Wednesday June 21, while watching the hail pile up on the balconies, Karen retrieved a phone message that a couple of much needed faucets had arrived.

Thursday June 22 dawned a beautiful day and after work, Karen headed off to pick up the faucet order. Checking when she arrived, she discovered that the guest tub (also much needed) had arrived as well.

A quick decision was made to nip out to the house, pick up the trailer, head back to get the tub and then meet Bill in time for him to take the tub out to the house since he was going out to meet the electrician anyway.

Upon arriving at the house, Karen was greeted by Greg with "you haven't been out since the weekend have you?"
"No, why?"
"You had better come see."

Seems a neighbour dog, who had been hanging around of late, snuck into the house, curled up somewhere unbeknownst to the boys and got himself locked in for the night.

Obviously frantic, he chewed 4 windows and a French door (along with both temporary doors) trying to escape.

As Karen was leaving in a cloud of disappointment, the good earth up and tried to swallow one of the van's rear wheels. Greg helped extract the van from its mucky predicament. Relieved Karen was again on her way, only to be felled some 5 minutes later by a flat tire on the opposite rear.

Bill arrived as a country neighbour (well we're all neighbours in the country aren't we?) was helping to change the tire, the spare for which (due to the conditions on the road side) had to be deflated and re-inflated.

We had dinner at 9:00!

But the soffit has started going on the garage. We could not figure out what Mark was using a router for but now we know. Another time consuming but very nice touch.

Oh, the windows and possibly the door can be repaired fairly easily.
