The weather here has been fantastic - too bad all the work is inside stuff. Bill went out on Thursday afternoon to meet with Tom, the furniture artisan who has made the kitchen and guest bath cabinets. They went over the details of what needs to happen and included Terry in the conversation. Tom took part of the island back because he needs to lose about 8" off the drawers to accommodate the downdraft vent unit - rats! We hate to lose any cupboard storage! The floor has started to be installed. They are using construction adhesive and then nails. It looks good so far. Thursday evening, we picked up our Kholer toilets. The fires south of the boarder had filled the upper sky with smoke so the sun was a big orange ball settling into its mountain cradle. The picture does not do it justice ..... oh for a digital SLR camera! Sunday we headed out to assemble and stain a couple of chairs (and enjoy some time at the house). The floors are nearly half done but by Tuesday they'll be bumping into Greg and Jeff putting up wall board in the guest wing. Greg stopped by for a bit - showing his best girl what he's been working on for nearly a year. |
