Day 90

February 3, 2006

As has become a routine, Karen went out after school on Friday February 3 and took coffee to the boys. As usual, this was appreciated to no end, but the boys were a little disappointed because they had not achieved quite as much as they had hoped before she arrived. What an awesome crew!

They boys were also quite eager to take a couple of photos for us from up on the structure, but as you can see, we also obtained a “bonus” shot. Nice mug! They also explained to Karen that they had to cut some of the logs to the proper size. They asked if we were going to take this up with Precision Craft, to which Karen replied “Hell no, I’m going to tell Bill to talk to Terry, that you guys aren’t half as good as he says you are and you’ve cut off pieces in error and now have to stick them back on.” Hence the “extra bits” piled on the end of the truss.

The weather continues in our favour, and the structure is really starting to come along. The “spare wing” has the gable ends complete (except for field fitting the slop) and the log purlins in place. The king trusses are erected in the great room and they are getting ready to mount the feature truss over the front door.
